Bankers: IT, data specialists may face ban to use smartphone at work
MOSCOW, Jul 23 (PRIME) -- A ban to use smartphones at a workplace could apply to IT specialists and transaction officers at banks and to employees dealing with databases, head of the Association of Russian Banks Garegin Tosunyan told PRIME on Tuesday.
Media reported earlier that certain limitations on smartphone use could be introduced for bank employees. Corresponding recommendations could appear in September with the work being held by two entities: the Association of Banks of Russia and the Association of Russian Banks.
“The initiative didn’t come from us, but supported it, because the problem of information security is becoming more urgent,” Tosunyan said.
The Association of Banks of Russia’s Vice President Alexei Voilukov said the association is not preparing recommendation to ban exploitation of smartphones.
